Hillside Chalet

We had a great long weekend at the cabin! The cabin is centrally located to great climbing, restaurants, coffee at Daniel Boone’s. The fire pit and covered deck with hot tub were perfect for the evenings! The cabin was clean, lots of linens and towels were provided!

Me and my family absolutely loved our stay. The cabin was very clean & a perfect fit for our needs. The cabin is perfectly located right in the heart of Slade, only minutes away from hiking trails, kayak rentals, swimming areas, etc. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for the perfect private getaway but still within minutes of many tourists attractions.

The cabin was great! It was open, spacious and had a great floor plan. The windows lit up the entire cabin and the balcony was a great place to start the morning. It is located directly off of the parkway above the 2 gas stations and about 2 miles from the state park. You get some noise from the traffic but that’s the cost of a convenient location. Overall, it was definitely a great place to spend the holiday and we would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful newer cabin, with excellent hot tub, fire pit, very clean, dog friendly. Big drawback is the location right above all highways, and the noise. The bright lights of gas station etc. directly below cabin gives a feeling of not being in a private woodsy area with a view. If you don't care about that it's a perfect place to stay.

This cabin was perfect for our family getaway. The cabin is beautiful and had all the necessary amenities. Location is great with access in close proximity to many activities. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again in the future.

Wow!! Beautiful and immaculate cabin in such a scenic location and easily accessible withOUT a 4wd. It felt like being in a secluded resort even with neighboring cabins. The hot tub overlooks the gorge wit a lovely sunset view. A fun entertainment table tennis, is in the basement. It's located within just a few minutes drive to Naturl Bridge! Everything s perfect, including wifi!

Close to red river gorge and quite and relaxing.

The property was very well maintained and comfortable. It's a short drive to the state parks trails but the surrounding area is pretty enough with all the ponds and trees to walk around if you don't feel like driving. Loved our stay! My friend and I stayed at this cabin for a mini Moms vacay. The cabin was clean and cozy. We mainly hiked all day and just relaxed in the evening at the cabin. The views from the porch were amazing while we drank our coffee in the morning and the hot tub was nice in the evening after a long day of hiking. It was quiet and peaceful but not too far from town and the trails. We would definitely rent this cabin again. Thanks Simply Shaker for giving two moms some much needed rest and relaxation!

Great place for a family of four. Views are fantastic and the cabin is in a great location in relation to hiking and other activitis.

Perfect! Well-apportioned cabin with all amenities; spacious rooms with magnificent decks, perfectly designed for mass consumption of amber fluids from Scotland. Great hot tub, great bedding and closet space. Spectacular views of the "Gorge" affording great photography with an array of lenses. Top of the list: the silence, magnificent silence.

We decided to take off for a weekend getaway last minute so I called at 4 in the afternoon hoping for a cabin to be available. I guess I spoke with Mendel who walked me through choosing and booking a cabin effortlessly. Since we were coming in late he left the keys at the office for us and when we arrived our packet has exactly where he said it would be with clear directions to our cabin. The cabin itself was clean, immaculate with all the comforts of home and then some. Mendel had assured me I would fall in love with the view from the hot tub and boy was he right. The views from the decks are amazing. The hot tub was clean and warm and there were more than enough clean towels for our whole weekend, though there is a full size w/d had we been staying longer. 10/10 for everything will definitely stay again.

Very peaceful. Just what we needed. We had an amazing time and love the cabin. Everything was clean and in great shape. We wish we didn't have to leave so soon! We'll know next time to book for a longer stay and bring family as well. The view is just breathtaking!! Thank you for everything!

When we first pulled up to the cabin we were pleasantly surprised. We didn't know what to expect and I was a little skeptical as we had never rented a cabin in the area. When we entered the cabin we were amazed. We did not anticipate it being so nice. It was open but cozy accented by all the wood. It was immaculate as far as cleanliness. The beds were comfortable and although we weren't planning on using it, ended up in the hot tub admiring the fantastic view. If we even make it back there we know where we will try to stay and would recommend it to anyone who asks. Thank you for providing such an opportunity for us to create such a memorable experience.
